As I continue my research, you need to check that the symbol is still legible on other posts. The font being used by your computer, your subcontractor for example will not have it and could see a "#" or something like that instead of the symbol. And this by opening a slddrw, dxf, or even pdf of your plan.
In fact, my symbol is made from the Century Gothic font, but indeed, I don't know if a subcontractor will be able to read it. That said, I usually send my plans in pdf, dxf or dwg, so it shouldn't be a problem.
When you do a drawing conversion (slddrw) to dxf or dwg, the annotation or dimensions remain real text and are not transformed into sketch blocks or entities. They can be edited.
Same thing for pdfs, in general, you can copy/paste the text of a pdf. Very practical when you want to translate a document with Google Translate.
@coin37coin, pdfs (generated via SW) are not simple images, that's why you can copy/paste the text.
@lespetitspieds, can you attach a dxf and a pdf with the symbol and some text behind it? We'll tell you if we can read it!
@s.b, it looks like this symbol is not in the special character table, the best I saw is a square with a diagonal, but this diagonal doesn't protrude from the square.
@Benoit.LF: yes yes though. You take a photo at the moment "T" and you send.
I see the PDF as a print. Except that instead of having it on paper, you have it in digital. Or I didn't understand everything in PDF format? anyway, I would be very surprised if the symbol doesn't stay ;-)
That said, we'll be fixed when @Lespetispieds will attach a PDF
@coin37coin, no a PDF is not a simple image, there is "intelligence" in the PDF as for example and as @Benoit.LF says, copy the text that is in a pDF which would not be feasible if it was just an image.
And when I copy and paste text from the pdf, I can't keep the symbol when I paste it into a word, or a google search. And moreover with different results!
If the goal is "only" to make an annotation to indicate the size of a tube, for my part I would make a block integrating this symbol, coupled with an annotation to write the dimension.
For the saved version pdf, it's weird, with me too, there is the display defect. The pb is therefore created directly when the pdf is generated. I'll try again by fiddling in the settings.
It's good at home. To be validated in the dxf/dwg.
Arfgh in the bars... And what do you think of the "framed oblique" symbol that I proposed yesterday, which is found in the special characters of Word? I grant you, he's not perfect. :/
this one in the same Segoe UI Symbol font seems the most appropriate since it's a square with a straight bar [|] and can be found in the Miscellaneous Technical section (subset) (here in plain text (AltGr+5)crochet_ouvert (AltGr+6)more (AltGr+°)crochet_fermé)
