A family table of parts that comes out of the drawing

Hi all

I have (for example for a screw) created a family of parts in order to have only one 3D model for the whole family of parts (in the case of a CHC screw approx 150 line).

All this works very well, on the other hand I want to create a plan for this family (CHC screws) with a view of a "typical" screw,  the length dimension "L" and the diameter dimension "D" then have next to my room family table to do as on a catalog ... it works very well, except that I can't display the whole table in the drawing...

I would ideally like to have 3 "pieces" of family table of pieces side by side (of about 50 lines each) so that it can fit into my plan, but I can't do it... Do you have a solution?

Currently I copy and paste my data into a "classic" table but it breaks the links and therefore no update.

Thank you very much in advance!!!

Laurent.

it's another way of looking at it

I don't know if this corresponds to your problem but tables (including nomenclature) can be split into several tables.

No the tutorial doesn't answer my pb ... Unfortunately, all the tutorials only deal with tables that are small enough to fit in a drawing directly without modification...

How do you split a family table from a room into several tables?

Hello

I also made a shorter family of pieces but I go through publisher it greatly lightens the room.

otherwise you right click on line 50 (black horizontal arrow) and you split it allows you to have your table in several pieces.

I hope you can take the screw to try in assembly you will see what it looks like

To split a table (of nomenclature, I haven't tested on a family table), you have to right-click on the table and there is the "split" command (http://help.solidworks.com/2013/French/SolidWorks/sldworks/t_Splitting_BOMs.htm)

Thank you all for your answers but nothing works, this room family table does not behave at all like the other tables... It is very complicated to divide.

Do you have a solution to automatically put my Excel data in a "classic" table?

Hello

If the table is too big we print on both sides. On the front we put the screw and the representation of the ribs and on the back the table. This table can be collapsed if the window in the excle file is opened and collapsed when editing the part family.

Concretely, if you have made a family of parts, it's in Excel automatically.

but I understand your problem, I just looked at it, you put your piece in your drawing, you click it and you import > Table > family of pieces.

And it gives you a frame with all your lines as if it were an almost image and it's related to the Excel spreadsheet.

So yes you can't split it or if you can you have to know Excel well to divide the window into 3 but I don't think it's feasible.

I would tell you to make 2 sheets

1 with your table and the other with your plan and your reference dimensions
maybe you can put your board on a vertical A3

Otherwise another solution you create 3 screws

1 who is M2 to M12

1 who is M14 to M24

1 that is M26 to M40

Like what.

I hope you'll find a solution

Good luck and happy holiday season.
