Tablet

Hello

Is it possible to use a digital tablet to present 3D, for example on Creoview or equivalent?

Indeed, with my tank, I can hardly move  around to show it in the workshop or in a meeting.

Just to be able to rotate my outfit, make cuts, take dimensions, etc...

Currently I print screenshots or 3D views but it's less meaningful than a pure 3D.

Thank you

If you have a wifi connection (or other wireless) on your desktop and laptop

A laptop or tablet laptop less easy to find, especially if you have a pro graphics card

in a network you should be able to interconnect your laptop and your desktop PC

that is to say that you should be able to work on your laptop and white on the desktop and the same for the opposite

Hello

There is a version of eDrawings for iPad and iPhone (article). With the pro version you will be able to take dimensions and visualize your designs.

Kind regards

I only have a fixed CAD station and no laptop.

My station should be able to communicate with my tablet via USB or the internet.

But can a tablet host a 3D visualization software?

3D pdfs are also very practical.

They do not require any specific software.

You open your pdf, click on the image and you can run your assembly.

You can even put a password when opening, configure the background color etc...

After an Ipad it's luxurious to "only" run 3D...

So if no Ipad, no IOs and no app?

@s.b  I'm afraid I'll be limited quickly with the 3D PDF (cuts, measurements...)

Take an HP or Dell laptop (EliteBook W type with pro graphics card)

Hello

Edrawing is also available on android

it's the easiest solution to visualize your 3D and take measurements, as explained by jmsavoyat

Hello a supplement

On the pdf3D you can create sections and measurements and even from the free acrobat XI reader.

(it all depends on the rights open to the creation of the pdf).

I have already opened 3d pdfs generated from solidworks and enriched these pdfs with annotations of measurements, cross-section views.

I don't have a tablet so I've never tested it on this type of equipment.

On the other hand there is tftlabs it works even on Android, but with a free account I can only view the 3D).

I thought I read somewhere that the app was free for phone and tablet

but that messages via internet connection were paid

True / false?

Hello

The tablets are good but they are still delicate in terms of size.

On the iPad (that's what I use) edrawing is 1.79€ and the pro version 8.99€. a tablet from 380€ To store the files, either via the network or you use a navigation app for 12€, or via a wifi hard drive for 200€

Then there is the surface... Or you could install eDrawing at the first price of 339€, but there is a good chance that the PC application can only be installed on the Pro A ..... 779€

but it's still very small and the graphics cards are very limited.

a touch pc with an HD4000 type acer V5 c is in 15.6 touch it costs -500€ and I think it's much more practical.

The luxury the Lenovo 550€ tablet PC with a beautiful design (but not so great features) or the HP envy at 729€

And then the prices soar

Ok basically I may have asked the question 2 or 3 years too early.... :)

So I might look at a small laptop, because what I hadn't mentioned in addition is that I'd like the tablet to connect to an overhead projector ...

Thank you all for your answers, I'll leave the question open for a moment just in case.

Hi all

I just discovered that Edrawing exists on Android! We've been waiting for it for a long time! The application has been available on iOS (Iphone, etc.) for several years.

It is available for €1.49 on the Official Play Store:

http://goo.gl/ugLkET

I'll probably test it next week at work.

For the choice of a tablet, I would recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 at 340 €: http://goo.gl/dLSPN8

Otherwise, a good low-cost tablet is the Cube U30GT2 at 185 €: http://goo.gl/07ACWp

I own the first U30GT of the name, and a friend has it (U30GT2) and he is very happy with it (we bought the 2 on this site, even if the name may seem dubious, it is reliable).

If you have any questions about Android or tablets, don't hesitate!

To answer s.b: I couldn't open 3D PDFs with an Android tablet.

Neither with the official Adobe app, nor with a third-party app.

Finally, for the transfer of files between the PC and the tablet, many solutions exist: the simplest for me, when you are covered by wifi is AirDROID: http://goo.gl/RuctNc

Very simple, very practical and fast transfers, on the other hand I don't know if it works with a desktop PC connected to ethernet!

Or you can simply copy the files to a microSD card and then insert it into the tablet.

Avoid taking tablets with a 3G connection etc, it's very expensive and a bit useless for my taste!

I hadn't read the last message well:

To connect the projector tablet, all it needs to do is have a micro HDMI port.

My Cube U30GT has one, I bought the cable and I connect it to the television without any problem!

For the Samsung, the port is called MHL, but it's the same thing.

Remember to take a cable at least 2 meters, so as not to be blocked next to the video projector.

but I remain convinced that for the moment it's not super great (tool for commercial)

for me the one and only way to have a tool that works well

is to have the tool that is likely to do it with the master log

and as to run a CAD log on a pc you need a pro graphics card

You don't have a choice

so workstation-type laptop with pro graphics card (dell, HP, lenovo, etc....)

you will have all the connections you want

The ability to communicate directly with your PC

for file transfer via a docking station

Hello

I join the conversation...

On Android, look at TFTPad :-)

Multi-CAD, clean and efficient :-)
