Hello everyone, I get annoyed when I save plans in PDF. Saving in PDF makes me jump my line thicknesses. If I print on the printer directly through catia, here is the rendering I have (large outer lines and small cut lines)→ Yellow background
If I go through save as file OR PDF creator print file, here is the result I have (all the lines are the same size, the plan is ugly) → White background
The yellow background that turns white when saved as a PDF is normal and desired.
Hello, thank you very much for this answer. I don't know this window (your screen) at all. Is it CATIA please? If so, where can you find this window please?
With a bit of luck @franck.ceroux will see this post and answer you, it's the Catia specialist of the forum. For my part, it was impossible for me to answer you.
I don't see a pB on my side, you have a thicker visualization under CATIA than mine (3 and 2 for me) but the thickness affected is the same 0.35mm so when opening the pdf we have the same result, there is little difference between the thicknesses, you have to zoom in 150 to 200% to see the difference. To change the thickness in mm for a stroke type from 1 to 8 you have to modify the standard and therefore be an administrator. I did my tests from your CATIA files to be sure can you send me the pdf you get (saved under .pdf).
Indeed, when I zoom in I also see the differences in line sizes on my PDF. But it's really less visible than in draw. I could " cheat " and put 1mm lines but it becomes illegible on the draw for small parts .
I didn't know that there was a difference between the Catia display and the real display (schema tone with colors). It's a shame that it's like that, especially for proofreading shots after physical printing.
Ok same result with your pdf. What you can do but you have to modify the standard for your type 3 which is at 0.35 for example change it to 0.7mm so that under CATIA you have the same thing as currently and under the PDF it corresponds to a strong line (of technical drawing).
Below is a photo of a real print of a PDF generated after applying your trick. I changed the size of some of the strokes (the ends) on purpose by hand to see if there is a difference (there is a !!).
