What is the best way to apply flat text without any 3D effect, such as printed text, to a volume?
Currently and from what I've seen, I apply the text on a sketch and then a 0.001 mm boss-extr, is this the right method ?
Should the text be dissolved afterwards or left as such?
I did dissolution tests and I get a pretty amazing number of splines, curves and straight lines even for the simplest shapes. Which annoys me a bit to have '50' curves for a simple O.
I also noticed that when I export to a . STP or import into SW Composer texts are automatically dissolved.
Moreover depending on the view/angle in compose the texts turns into nice scribbles, while this does not happen for a logo draw on a sketch with the same function (boss-extr of 0.001)
Try to make the text in sketch and then a "winding" function of the sketch with the "marking" option.
I haven't checked what happens after STEP transfer and it seems to me that Coposer (3dVia in our country) doesn't know how to read these entities; eDrawing to check but behaves better in general than Composer (Solidworks product!)

otherwise I opted in the end (because of 3dVia) for a material removal which is less resource-intensive than an extrusion (function statistic)
