If this part is intended for laser cutting + marking.
Why use a drawing?
A simple dxf extract wouldn't be enough? In this case, you just have to glue your block on your part and put the sketch in yellow before exporting. No?
To complete the answer of @Bart, in addition to the time of export in DXF it is very simple to be able to specify the export layers by reducing to the colors in SolidWorks.
You just have to have your annotation on a "yellow" layer. Then to retrieve the colors, line styles etc in your dxf or dwg it's simple:
- When you save as DXF (same for DWG) click on opiton at the bottom of the window
- In the export options, you need to "Enable" SOLIDWORKS Custom Projections to DXF/DWG
- When you click on save, a window^tre will open where you will be able to configure your layer transfers (in this window, you can use the "help" button)
