Any idea of how to model this?

Hi everyone,

This is probably very simple, but I don't have the idea how to model this part: A pliers extruded from a part of the tubing...

Do you have an idea?

Thanks!

Hello

I think I would do it with a smoothing and then symmetry.

Kind regards.

Yes, a smoothing after doing several sections.

Then symmetry for the 2nd half.

Or on the surface, directly.

Same as the previous answers +1 @ all 2

It's up to you to create the neutral fiber of your half room in front view

so you cut a pair of pliers in half lengthwise

you create your sketch at the axis of the thickness

and creates x plane perpendicular to this sketch

The number of plans is a function of the deformation of your half room

then you take the profile of your room via convert the entities on these X plan

after a surface smoothing that will convert to volume if the box is checked

and it's over

Apparently we have a flat part that joins a cylinder portion, the flat part and the cylinder portion are not a problem.

The junction is made with a smoothing.

Hello

Given the image in edges, I'm not sure if there is a flat part, but maybe slightly domed.

Hello

I tend to agree with @stefbeno.

You don't necessarily have to think complicated, you just have to imagine the geometry without all these curves and the design seems simpler.

Tomalam, of course,  to design the part you have to start from a raw form, but this observation may play a functional role such as optimizing the aerodynamics of this part for example.

Great thank you guys I'll test this during the week!

The objective is these pieces (photos attached)

Cdlt!

Hello

Thank you for the photo it's nice to see a project carried out, it's an airplane seat?

Yes that's it ;-)

So in the end it's a sheet metal part to be modeled with a stamping.

Ah, a connoisseur! Did you recognize it right with the Pilot seat? ^^

No, it was the shape of the sliding door that put me on the right track.

I checked anyway by looking for an image of the cockpit on gogole.
