Solidworks electrical user or other?

Hello

Currently to draw my elec plans I use Draft to output DWG.

I haven't found any free software capable of meeting my needs (I don't make electrical plans for houses...) and I'm hesitating between different solutions

I would like to have user feedback, and no sales representatives on solidworks electrical or other software. Just to get a little idea of the real interest of investment.

To give you an idea, I only do a small box with 1 to 3 drives, a small plc and relays, circuit breakers, etc... ah yes security of course AU, door switch, etc..

Hello

I was able to discuss electrical during a training course at Axemble.

Obviously, it's very interesting on 2 "big" points:

- The wiring is done automatically by selecting the best possible path.

Just choose a point A on a component and then a point B on a cabinet and it's good :)

The configurations can also be changed automatically if the path is not suitable.

- Second point: the provision of all electrical elements on bookcases. A very large number of suppliers play the game by offering elements that can be configured under Electrical.

In short, 2 points that seem rather nice to me to mention:)

I have already discussed with a salesperson and yes it is attractive, but if we discuss with salespeople of other software they say the same thing.

What seems strange to me is that there is 2D and another 3D but 3D is not without 2D, and as it is 5000 per unit when you take it together or 6000 separately, it makes you think about the usefulness of taking a 10000€ software to draw a plan per month.

Hello

A few years ago, to draw the electrical diagrams of the factory, I had SEE Electrical purchased from IGE-XAO.

Yet I use Pro/E every day, but SEE is very simple and cheap and corresponded better to the need.

I believe it is possible to download a trial version.

@ S.B.

I tried SEE, and the not too expensive for the 2D is still 8000€... advantage we can praise him.

I didn't talk to a salesperson but to a trainer.

It is, I think, not the same thing.

@SPEM. Gerald

You surprise me with the 8000€, I was thinking more about 250 - 400€, I'm talking about the simplest version.

@ SB

Yes there is a free version to make the basic elec diagram (box for the house etc..) the problem is that it is in a proprietary file. As soon as you want with DWG (like I'd like to get my plans back) well we go up a notch in terms of price.

Otherwise I think that the proposal I was made was rental purchase 500€ month, with the possibility of blocking certain months where we don't use it.

To close this question I would say that I remain hesitant between elecworks and electrical. same program, same functionality with almost 1000€ difference (software + maintenance)

we still stay on products around 7000€

Hello

there is also Xrelais at a low price +/- 200€ with demo version

Qelectrotech free but not very efficient but all files are in text mode -xml).

I tried DESA +/- 800€ but still very successful for the price

another possibility is to modify KICAD (free electronic circuit software) which integrates a 3D view

I am in the process of moving from SEE electrical expert to SW electrical

there is a lot of work to adapt the symbols and references to my needs but when at IGE they don't take you seriously, I prefer that rather

at SEE if you stop the maintenance (expensive for the service rendered) check that we have the continuous license on the dongle, otherwise nothing.

Happy searching

@fredoavelo

Thanks for the info. I tried Qelectrotech but I don't like it too much.

I already use Kicad for electronics in parallel with ExpressPCB and I started looking at RS DesignSpark

Software that can be interesting EditSab

I tried SEE and SW electrical, and for me electrical was the most intuitive but the costs are beyond the necessity because I make a box diagram every 6 months
