Use of chain/belt in schematic representation under SW 2013-2014

Hello

Since the SW 2013-2014 version, I can no longer use the
chain/belt function in schematic representation mode.
I perform exactly the same procedure as with the previous version
and that the SW tutorial but the function remains inactive.
Am I the only one who has noticed this problem? Do you have any solutions?

On the net I found nothing...

Well, I'm repeating myself too^^

Hello

Have you watched these tutorials? :

But the best thing would be to continue the discussion in your first question

Hello

I saw that your question remained unanswered.

So you posted a second one. =)

Are you in assembly mode?

For my part, I have no worries. Do you want a personalized tutorial?

Hello

I did a quick test on the 2013-2014 educ version and it works well.

In a document piece, I drew a horizontal axis.

Then I made a circle passing through one of the ends (+ a small one to visualize the rotation of the pulley). I create a first block of these 2 circles on the right of the drawing.

I then made a 2nd circle positioned to the left of the horizontal axis (+ another small circle to make the rotation visible). I create a 2nd block of this set of 2 circles).

Then I do the Chain/Strap function and it works as usual.

I hope I helped you.

Hello

I have made progress on the problem but it is still not solved.

I specify what I want to do:

My objective is to make a mechanism from an assembly of parts made from blocks themselves created from the "kinematic shema"  in schematic representation mode from the assembly. It works very well for all classic 2D links and friction drive but oddly not for chain/belt.

The problem is that the belt chain function is not activated if my blocks have been built in "schematic representation" mode.

On the other hand, I noticed that if I create my blocks inside a sketch, the chain/belt function is available. What is the point??? since you can't create a part from a block created in a sketch!! Or then I don't know how to do it without fiddling...

In attachment, my pb in picture....

Do you have a solution?

Hello

Using the function: "Tools > Sketching Tools > Chain / Belt" doesn't work?

Otherwise, as in the video below, you have to use blocks:

Edit: This is a known bug reported to SolidWorks under the number:

SPR #:

Summary:
Should be able to create belt/chain inside Layout

It is necessary to check in an assembly with schematic representation

Indeed, sorry, I had done a search for the schematic representation!

OK

In my case, it works well in the Educ 2013/2014 version

Put yourself in an assembly in schematic representation; in a sketch, put your Pulley Blocks.

Then Chain/belt and that's it works properly.

Hello alain. ERP

On my side, it also works if I create all this in a sketch...

But I wanted to do it without going through the sketches in order to have blocks outside the sketches, the goal being to create parts from the blocks (something impossible from blocks in a sketch...)

Vincent

I bring up this subject,

I wanted to use this function "ASM Schematic Representation - Belt"

but impossible to activate the function...

The bug still doesn't seem to be solved, I'm on SW2016

Can anyone with 2017 or 2018 check if it works??
