Using the COS() Function in an Equation

Hello

I'm simply looking to use the COS() function in an equation of a BOM table in drawing in SOLIDWORKS 2019.

To put it very simply, the values of one column are equal to the COSINE of the values of another.

However, no matter how much I try various ways to type the COS() (COS() Cos() cos() COS () Cos () cos (), ...), nothing helps, the function is not accepted.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Rémi

Maybe convert the angle to radians?

Hello

You assign the formula to the box when it should be applied to the column.

just select the column then click on the ∑ symbol  and then put your formula there finally if it works with the COS because I only did it concatenate two columns...

Hello

- As you can see, the value 15 can be 15 degrees as well as 15 radians, cosine of 15 exists, so that's not the problem.

- Similarly, I applied the formula to the entire column, we see cos('ß'), the two apostrophes represent the solidworks code of the column named "ß"

As much for me, I hadn't paid attention that it was in a drawing table.

Unfortunately, I have the impression that this is not possible (below screenshot do with a 2015 version):

The aid is not explicit on the issue.

If you have an assistance contract, it may be interesting to ask them

When creating a part family you can't create your custom property with the cos of your angle upstream in the excel table (which manages to perform this kind of equation) and then retrieve this cos angle property in your table,

Indeed I think I'm stuck.

For the family of parts certainly but I would like to avoid this process, if you have to go through this for each component, it will become cumbersome.

Thank you however for your answers.

It seems to me that the possibilities of a table are different from those of a BOM in terms of equations.  To check because I don't have solidworks at the moment.

Yes indeed, a few more functions, only the SI() function is available in the BOM drop-down list, but the COS() function still doesn't work in the latter.
