SmartDrawings Utility

Hi all

I would like to know if anyone of you regularly uses the SmartDrawings utility on SolidWorks.

And above all, what do you think?

So far, I haven't managed to use it but I'll dig around for tutorials.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Have a good end of the day.

Hello!

You will find the support file attached, you have to unzip it to be able to read it.

Have a nice day!

Hi Sebastien,

The most important thing to think about is a drawing document template (drwdot) that contains predefined views

Once these document templates are made, the rest of the setup is very simple.

Good luck

Mick

Hi Mick,

What do you mean by that?

Well, SmartDrawings won't work if your drwdot document template doesn't contain pre-defined views.

I advise you to read @Aurélien Fives ' doc and rewatch in the SOLIDWORKS help to create pre-defined views in your document template.

In SolidWOrks, pre-defined views allow you to automatically pose views when you create your plan.

FYI, here's how to create a pre-defined view in a new document template:

File, New, Plan.

Insert,  Drawing View, Predefined, you put it down and orient it, you can repeat the operation to create several views, projected views of the pre-defined view...

Then you do a save as, and you select drawing template.

In SmartDraings, you must declare this document template.

Good luck

Mick
