Variable surface

Hello,

In our 3D data maps we have a Mass variable that informs the mass of the 3D when it is created and the matter is defined.

I would like to add a surface variable so that in our data maps the surface of the product can appear, but I don't know if it is possible to do this or how to create the link between the variable and the 3D ground properties in SOLIDWORKS???

Thank you

Hello

At first glance, there is no simple solution:

What you want is to put the area that is in Mass Properties in your data map, right?

Hello

It must be possible. From SW you can recover the surface of the 3D in a property by "SW-SurfaceArea@... " in the same way as the mass by "SW-MAss@".

So the escalation in the EPDM data card should not be a problem.

To complete my answer above, look in the SolidWorks properties drop-down list, you can easily retrieve several data from the 3D.

After creating your surface variable in pdm administration, open your 3d, then go to file==> properties==>SUMMARY INFORMATION, custom tab and there you define your new variable, see ATTACHMENT, a new one.
