Vectorize text?

Hello everyone,

I try to vectorize text, so that I can then rework it, before laser cutting

I know that there are special fonts for lasers, but the customer wants a special font...

In SW, it is not possible to use the "Fit Features" tool with text

Since I have 200 pieces to make, I'm looking for a quick way.

Are you facing this problem?

Thank you

Kind regards

Hubert

Hello

Do you have a font screen print or name???

Otherwise I rework the parts with manual writing for the laser. After that it depends if you work with configs for your parts.

Now it would already be worth it to rework the police.

The best thing to do is to do a quick search:

But basically, there are two solutions:

Using Auto Trace in Solidworks https://grabcad.com/questions/tutorial-tip-using-autotrace-in-solidworks

Use external software: Inkscape https://inkscape.org/fr/

We hope to have answered your question...

If ever your text is in PDF there is a nice little software PDF to DXF.

pdf-dxf.exe

Hello

Several possibilities:

- Find out what the font is with this site:

  https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

- Vectorize the text in DXF with one of these sites:

Hello

I've had to do it several times and I use "CorelDRAW" just type the text, right click "vectorize"

and export to DXF.

Thank you for your answers

When I say that the client wants a particular font, it's actually Arial, very simple, but he cares about it, I can't change to a font ready for laser cutting

In fact it's about creating labels, with the brand name as well as the model number 001, 002, 003 etc up to 100, in 2 different sizes, so that's 200 pieces

The solutions seem to be to vectorize a bitmap, which is not what I am trying to do.

I wanted to type the name of the brand once, vectorize, create the little legs that are used to hold the material, and then repeat the sketch. Then I would just have to manage the numbers...

I need an Arial font, but ready for the laser

Working the police again is a good idea, but how to do it?, with what tool?

Kind regards

alternative solution to vectorization create the font using software

I found this:

it's free open source, => to try

The Arial Rounded font can be used for laser cutting.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your answers, indeed Font Forge that I had spotted is worth a try

Arial Rounded looks like it's not bad, but still leaves big gaps in some letters
