Configuration Lock

Hello

In an assembly I create several configurations to display certain networks, equipment, etc.

I create my drawings from these configurations.

But since I'm sometimes dizzy, I continue to work on a configuration I created for a drawing. As a result, I add, subtract, elements of my config (when I should be working on another config).

In short, is there a way to lock a config as it is, but keep the possibility to modify it later. Basically, I'm looking for a way to get an error message telling me that my config is locked, and that if I want to modify it I have to unlock it before making a modification.

Does this kind of function mean anything to you?

Hello

I don't think there is a "living solution" to block configurations.

You would have to go through macros, but anyway, it will take a manual action to lock the config, so if you forget to lock you will have the same problem!

The best thing to do is to be attentive! Just kidding! :)

+1 with manual side and the risk of forgetting to lock

Hello, it is currently impossible to lock a configuration, it is a bug reported to SolidWorks under the 'SPR# number 266538. You can subscribe to this bug to find out when it will be fixed.

Hello

What about PDM Workgroup or EPDM? As soon as the file is archived, it can be blocked from editing

It seems to me that PDMs are only able to manage parts or assemblies in their entirety, but not a particular configuration...

In fact, it's kind of an improved read-only.

OK... We'll have to wait for a next update then.
