We will soon be moving to the SolidWorks 2016 version and I would like to have some feedback on the compatibility of this new version with Gibbs and Alphacam CAM software.
Are there any updates for Gibbs and Alphacam already and have any tests been done?
Have bugs already been noticed or not?
This one is obviously to avoid blocking the machine park by switching to SolidWorks 2016.
Hello, I think the best is to test the 2016 version. It is possible to install multiple versions of SolidWorks on one workstation. You just have to remember to specify it during the installation not to update.
The best thing to do is to wait or ask for feedback from the developer of Gibbs and AlphaCam.
In my company, we use Logopress3 for tooling, and it is essential to have information from them before updating everything, otherwise you will cry hot tears afterwards.
In the first SolidWorks service packs, there are quite often important fixes for third-party software compatibility.
But as .PL says , nothing prevents you from installing it as a clean installation, without updating the existing one, in another folder at first.
