Good morning Sunday
With the mouse to zoom I use the 2D mouse. The 3D mouse is used for other things.
A very practical trick was to click on the place that interests me and then scroll wheel and at that moment it zoomed in to this area.
If I clicked in the void to the left of an object, it zoomed in on the clicked point (which saves me from using the 3D mouse.)
Since I changed machines when I zoom in with the dial, the part stays in the same place so I can't move the part to the right or left or up and down by clicking in each of these areas and then zooming in.
I hope I have been clear in my explanations :-)

Hi Zozo_mp,
stupid question, have you saved your old Solidworks settings (.sldreg) from your old machine to reload them in the new ???
No!
but I made a backup on June 28th, I'll reload to see. In fact I don't remember how long ago I had the PB.
- I'm reloading the June (.sldreg) and I'll keep you posted.
Thanks @ Ac Cobra
Hello
By default, the zoom (in/out with the dial) is done in relation to the position of your cursor. You can lock the zoom so that it always zooms in relation to the center of the window (View/Edit/Zoom around the center of the screen.
Another handy feature is the zoom on a selection (View/Edit/Zoom on selection). You can set this function in the heads-up view or directly on the "mouse movement" (right click held) for which you can set from 4 to 12 functions.
Kind regards

Hello @ jmsavoyat
(( lock the zoom so that it always zooms in relation to the center of the window (View/Edit/Zoom around the center of the screen. ))
It's precisely because I had locked it that I no longer had it in relation to the position of the cursor.
I unchecked the box and everything went back to normal.
THANK YOU :-)
For the right click, I use it all the time, especially for dimensioning and to get out of the sketch.
Kind regards
