Hello I add that the video card is a bit tight too. You can replace the 2x4GB->2x8GB ram. 16GB max on this motherboard. DDR4 is not compatible with this PC.
I should point out that I use SW2013 until today with a pc of 8GB of ram in ddr3, this quadro 600, the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-HD2 and the processor is a DualCore AMD A4-4000, 3200 MHz (32 x 100).
I'm not a great draftsman, I tinker, I mainly draw RC airplane parts and some odds and ends of everyday life, all for a 3D print.
The capacity of the disks seems very limited to me (between W10, MS Office and SW and I imagine you have other software to install), there won't be much left, the minimum of the minimum is more like 500GB, with 1TB you will be fine. In addition, pay attention to the lifespan of the disks on second-hand hardware (especially the SSD whose technology is very old).
Otherwise, I'd rather take the 3010 whose μproc is (slightly) faster.
I don't want to spoil the atmosphere but make sure you can still download SW at your VAR, some versions are no longer maintained. Otherwise it's a bit-by-bit copy of all the old HDD on the new one, which seems to me the simplest and safest.
VAR, DVA in French, is the acronym for Value-added Reseller. It designates a value-added reseller . By added value, we mean the fact that he has a resale business, but also a service activity. (definition source Wikipedia).
Kind regards
PS: 16 GB is a minimum because otherwise you have a message (monitor resources that break them) If one day you start doing PEF simulation with ASMs a little big, 16 GB is too tight.
Thank you for the explanation. I don't think I'll do simulation, my interest with SW is mainly model aeronautics. I asked for a quote from grosbill specifying what I was doing but it's much too expensive for an amateur.
Hello @diiity Beyond the price variation depending on the seller you get it from, if it's out of budget you can at least make do with 16GB of RAM instead of 32, it divides the RAM cost by 2 and keeps a decent amount. I know it's not the biggest price but hey
Hello @diiity , Try to watch with an ADM Ryzem 5 processor (6 cores at 3.6Ghz Swiss price 110chf), at one time it was cheaper than Intel, its little bit to save 200euro In addition, motherboards with often have an integrated graphics card equivalent to the same choice. Personally that's what I have for my solidworks 2006
For my part, I run with a Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-HD2 and the processor is a DualCore AMD A4-4000, 3200 MHz (32 x 100), a quadro 600 card and 8GB of DDR3. under win 7 pro and SW2013. So I tell myself, that indeed the processor you offer is not bad, especially since it is 159€ at grosbill. To that you need the motherboard which is fine but which one and 16GB of DDR4 as @Sylk advises.
As far as the power supply is concerned, I have a DELL OPTIPLEX 3010 case I'm attaching my current config PC aero 14-01-2021.txt (4.1 KB)
As far as the motherboard is concerned, will a micro ATX do the trick, is that what I have now? By the way, what are the differences apart from the size?
The difference is often the size, the number of ports available, the number of map slots available, and in most cases the ATX have an integrated graphics card
So it's interesting to take a micro ATX, the only evolution I can predict is the ram, so I'll put a single 16GB stick and then later it may be... add one.
As for the graphics card, I have the quadro 600 but the integrated ones are efficient enough, there I'm not sure.
on the last PC I built 4 years ago, I have an AMD 8 Core processor 8gram and an integrated graphics card which was if I'm not mistaken, GTXForce 750 4gram
But it was the period of the first launch of the 8 cores, I just needed to buy The motherboard, the memory and the processor, I had it for 300chf at the time
In terms of the graphics card, I don't know exactly the difference between the GTXForce 750 and the Qaudro 600, because never had a Quadro for solidworks, so visual level I don't know, but I know that I can't do the real view on the PC where it is I have a GTXForce 720
