I just updated the OS of my PC (switch from windows 8.0 Pro to windows 8.1 Pro). The goal is to be able to install SOLIDWORKS soon (windows 8.0 not supported).
My problem is that since the switch to Windows 8.1, INVENTOR 2010 no longer works:
I can't find anything on the NET to help me run the "DAMN" INVENTOR 2010.
Take care to unplug your pc properly, put away the wires with rislans, open the window, (it saves a pane) and throw the tower with all your might. It doesn't work any better, but it relieves!!! :)
It's clear that it's a bit annoying, it's either the time of the drawing board or the only risks of compatibility were between Rotring and Staedtler.....
@G. Sloubi 1: I thought about throwing away this "f.... " of PC, moreover just seeing the Autocad & Inventor icon gives me buttons (antibiotics are not automatic, but there I think it's necessary !!), and as the icing on the cake Windows 8 and 8.1 I hate (it's this version that no longer has a start button at the bottom left !!!)
Yes, I tested in compatibility mode but nothing helps.
Already under windows 8.0 it "messed up" more than it worked ....
My colleagues are on WiNDOWS XP PRO (it works well) but this is beyond my strengths..... and then there is no more XP PRO PC available!!!!
3. Install .NET Framework 3.5 When you install Windows 8, version 4.5 of the .NET Framework is installed by default. However, older applications often require an earlier version of the .NET Framework. If you get an error message related to .NET Framework, open the Control Panel, click Programs, and choose the "Enable or Disable Windows Features" option. Windows then displays a list of the various components that you can turn on or off. One of the items on the list is the .NET Framework 3.5, which also includes .NET 3.0 and 2.0. It is likely that installing this component will correct the issue you are experiencing.
And:
9. Provide the app with additional permissions Some legacy applications (especially those written for Windows XP) fail to run due to inadequate permissions. Here too, the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter can help. On the "What problems do you notice?" screen, choose the option for programs that require additional permissions. Alternatively, you can also try right-clicking on the application and choosing the "Run as administrator" option (assuming you have administrator rights).
