Where is the "normal removal of material" box?

@Bart: it's only accessible once you have a volume of sheet metal. Before, this option is not accessible (at least on my SW13)!

That's it according to sheet metal

to check the direction of the thickness ...

SO MUCH FOR ME

But for a simple cut like this, why not make a tube directly in volume or even directly in sheet metal, and then come and remove the material following the shape from above?

Personally, for a wolf's face, I don't worry that much^^

We agree @Bart, it comes back to the example I put on the previous page!

So I redid everything directly in Folded Base Sheet. So I can do my unfolded etc... on the other hand for the removal of matter it doesn't do as I want me to do a removal of matter it does something impossible to do in reality...

What is the goal of your project?

A kind of tubular welded construction made of rolled sheets?

It is important to know that for the material removals you want to make,  you cut the edge of the sheet metal to  give it one or more angles. To make it, it will be necessary to use laser, plasma or 5-axis waterjet cutting machines.

I'm enclosing a piece, it's a welded construction made with rolled sheet metal, all unfoldable.

Enjoy^^

And of course, for those who are interested, and who don't have Sw 2014, here are some screen prints, and a 3d pdf

So yes it's for a construction with welded rolled sheets.

I tried with your method so "normal material removal" but it always does something weird to me.

I know very well, this is going to be cut with a 6-axis plasma cutting machine.

It was just for your personal information.

As a side note, if you carry out so-called "non-normal" material removals, i.e. the removal creates biases on the edge of the sheet metal, in this case, solidworks will make the part ununfoldable.

The best method for me will be to do as I designed + high.

Take my piece and see how I did it.

And for your normal material removal, you have to choose the area of action.

Choose a single body, the one that will be cut up. the other should not be selected.

Look at this example, just the last function.

@Benoit, that's exactly what I did on my piece.

See my 2 old posts with the .sldprt and the .rar

@Bart, excuse me, I don't have 2014... And on your screen prints, you don't see the options for removing material... Sorry for the duplicate!

Ah, that's not a reproach Benoit! far from it =)

Just a piece of information. ^^

That's also why I attached a .rar file to illustrate the play. ;)

I did exactly as you did, well it seems to me more or less but it always does the same to me.
