Unable to copy and paste into drawings

Hello
I reinstalled SolidWorks 2022 SP5 on a Win 11 and since then I can no longer copy and paste in the drawings.

Hello

What kind of copy/paste?

For example, I want to copy a view of my drawing and paste it into the same sheet but impossible.

Hello;
… It's difficult to answer without more information...
if this defect is directly related to the reinstallation of Solidworks (What motivated this Reinstallation?), I would start by repairing the Solidworks installation.
And make space on your hard drive (copy/paste uses a lot of space in temporary files). See Windows " Cleanup " function (Disk Cleanup)

But we really need to be told more about the context.

We suffered a fire in all our offices during the summer so the PC is new and reinstallation of solidworks is mandatory, my colleagues have the same problem.

Hello;

If your colleagues also have the same problem:
Check, and optionally restore, keyboard shortcuts.

I imagine that the copy/paste problem only appears in Solidworks (no problems on the word/excel side ...?)

yes the problem only comes with Solidworks and the keyboard shortcuts have been redone even if they were present. the only difference is that before we were on Win 10 and today in Win 11.
I'm trying to repair the installation, I'll see.

Also to be tested by temporarily resetting the user profile:
1-Close solidworks
2- Launch solidworks Rx (type Rx in the windows search bar)
3-Click on the link in SW Rx:

Test if with a reset profile, copy and paste it is possible.
If it works, it comes from a profile restore that is corrupted. (Which is often the case)
Edit: never import a profile when making a big change of version or windows (the registry keys are not necessarily the same-> bug guaranteed)

According to Dassault, versions of Solidworks compatible with Windows 11 start in 2023.

To be seen with other users if they use the Solidworks 2022 sp5 + Windows 11 combo...

I just tested via a colleague's PC, it doesn't solve the problem.

I don't know how Windows 11 is configured but by chance:

From the Local Group Policy Editor (or " gpedit" in the Windows search bar):

Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services> Remote Desktop Session Host> Device and Resource Redirection.

test by disabling " Do not allow clipboard redirection"

If that doesn't work either, you can always turn it back on.

it doesn't work either

Repairing the installation also does not work. I'm afraid that Windows11 is the problem with all these little bugs I have including this copy paste

Complement to @Maclane's post

Which tends to confirm the total non-compatibility of SW2022 SP5 and WIN 11

Knowing a little about Solidworks software and their evolution methods, I wouldn't risk using a version earlier than Solidworks 2024sp5 with Windows 11.
Browsing the internet, copy/paste seems to be an inherent problem in Windows 11.
=> So the combination of the two ...

Hello

2022 Sp5.0 is compatible with Windows 11 (but in 64bit; check that this is the case)

If even Windows adds bugs to us :scream:

Not sure if it's a novelty the windows pb!
Ask those who worked with Catia on Unix, the software stability was incredible and once switched to windows, it was quite the opposite!
Astonishing, isn't it?

Just like @Maclane Sw2020 sp02 was the 1st version compatible with W11, which is actually notoriously problematic with copy and paste.
So it's not surprising that the 1st versions have some bugs, especially on this point which seems sensitive.
I would try a ticket with the hotline.
Only they know how to answer you on the problematic points of a version or not.

… And I who complained about the rotrings that were constantly clogged:

… of my periods that were making traces on my tracing paper:

And hole marks and letter traces that smudged:

In the end, we may have had fewer problems before... but it was more complicated to model in 3D.

… Sorry for this off-topic / nostalgia...

Notwithstanding I am poucenlairise :+1: (I try to democratize new and old words) @sbadenis for the hotline recourse... (Even if their answers are already known I'm afraid.)
