Bioclimatic pergola

The real challenge is to be able to make this pergola yourself for the lowest cost. To find a solution with cheap materials. For example, wooden slats, but how can we guarantee that it does not warp over 4 m.

In short, I see that my question has generated an atmosphere

But your idea, David, is to tinker with one in your garage or to reduce the prices? The blades in particular, there must be a way to have them made in sheet metal for example for much cheaper!

Hello

I have a friend who is a boilermaker who has made a rather simple and very pretty one at home.

It is a steel frame with horizontal blinds that he can fold up according to his needs.

To make it waterproof you just have to optimize the principle a little more

@Sb'm not talking too quickly about modular gantry, I'm on it too =) !!!

I don't have 15000€ to put in a pergolla. At this price you have a car. So the idea is to demonstrate that there is a goal and for all do-it-yourselfers to have a design file for self-realization: me first.

This can be a challenge, but why not this time work as a team.....

@david

There are obviously several of us who are interested. And indeed teamwork would be nice on this "social network" for a constructive exchange of ideas. We need a challenge without rewards or rankings...

What do you think @Clémentine?

Very interesting subject. I opted to buy a chassis at 199€ at the beginning of 3 by 4 but the all-season resistance becomes a problem

To avoid too crazy costs, the wooden structure, which is more resistant, allows you to have winter resistance.

Unfortunately we fall within the framework of declaration because it can turn into a veranda according to the municipal authorities

The dodge is to declare a winter garden lol

The most expensive is the fixing to the ground (the iron legs) which come back to buy at the price of wood for the structure

My manufacturing cost is estimated at 1000€

the canvas!!!! If you take a custom-made waterproof model, you will be around 1000€

so for 2000€ it's manual

l Automation:

Take an electric roller shutter and insert the motorization with adaptation for cable transmission so that the tarpaulin can be folded up. Cost 500€

l automaton  use a small IMO with solar and rain sensor sells etc 400€

That's where I am in my "study". I think you can make the set for 4000€ of parts. On this we don't count the time passing but if we estimated we would surely arrive at 8000€

so for me 15000€ an operational system is not that crazy

for framing in all seasons

As an example

  • Take Douglas fir rafters (class 3 without sapwood)

The price according to the section from 1 to 3€ per linear m

Work on standard lengths

  • stainless steel cable 2 loops of 2 the length of the pergola,
  • 4 pulleys,
  • 1 motor for drive,
  • x tarpaulin support bars either made of wood or stainless steel
  • 1 tarpaulin the length of the pergola

(mount on a roller that slides in a rebate of the high crossbar)

Here you go

Hi all

I see that there is animation here!

What exactly do you expect from me? Would you like to launch a challenge on this subject? But without rewards?

I think the request is + to do a collarative work

via a dedicated space created via the website

with an opening without any request for remuneration for the participants

so that everyone (at least the people who feel concerned) can express themselves and develop a product together

Now I can be wrong

But it is true that it would allow us to know and understand the possibilities of this collaboration tool

waiting for new additional answers from the interlocutors present here

Are you talking about opening a free Mycadplace project place for this project?

I think when reading the messages I understood something like this

but I can completely go wrong in asking the other people concerned

Good evening

If you wish, I can open a mycadplace folder. Owning a subscription I have 22Giga available.

It is simply necessary to define the roles of each one.

For the management of the said file, a simple list of registrants is made

Regarding the involvement of GT22 I can appoint him administrator of the said file and let him manage

This will allow (I'm not innocent) to push the limits of Mycadplace and to make feedback from it

Indeed, Clémentine, the idea this time is to carry out a joint project. The challenge would be more based on the success of a collaborative project. This may be unprecedented.

Concerning the initial project, it is a question of adjustable slats, but research on other systems, such as tarpaulins, allows us to evaluate the cost. So the analysis of the competition and the different solutions already existing is a good starting point.

In order to allow as many people as possible to carry out this project, we need to set a specification.

The initial idea was to make a wooden construction that has the constraint of being to be maintained but easy to work with.

What do you think?

Maybe you can not limit yourself to the material, if you can find a supplier of PVC profiles, for example such as roller shutter slats. or something else...
