A short user manual for the new My CAD by forum - VERSION 2

You will find a user manual of the forum with almost everything it contains!

However, consider that it is a collective work and that I will integrate everything I omitted and republish the up-date version

Here is the latest version 2.1 (also at the end of the discussion)

Hello @Zozo_mp
Thank you for the initiative :+1:

2 or 3 remarks:

  • The preview that is displayed when you click on a member's avatar is what is called "User Card" in our profile options.
  • The "see my titles" at the end are our badges. At least it was, because currently we (I?) come across a 404 error. Worth noting.
  • I think you meant "However, the mute mode allows you to exclude certain subjects."
  • The notification options are clearer and more convenient to manage from our profile>preferences>notifications>...

@Zozo_mp I don't really understand what you find illogical with the XP levels?

Score 15 GT Th 21767 / 24000
Score 15 Jmsav 5222 / 24,000
Score 13 Allie 11068 / 18200
Score 11 Ac cob 10245 /13200
Score 10 Zoz 9479 / 11000
Score 8 Stef b 7044 / 7200

I explain what I deduced from it. Maybe it has nothing to do with what you're missing, or maybe you'll see more clearly.

GT Th is at level 15.
Level 16 requires 24000 additional points (i.e. 24000 pts more than all those acquired from registration to level 15).
He has already acquired 21767 pts out of these 24000.
In 2233 pts he will reach level 16.
His meter (his gauge) will then go to 0/27000. He will then have to acquire 27000 new XP points to move up to level 17.

For Jmsav it's the same, except that since he passed level 15 he has only acquired 5222 XP points out of the 24000. He is still 18778 points short.

Hello @Sylk

I find it curious because the method of allocation is not clear.
Let's take Jmsav who curiously only has 5225 points but has a score of 15 who is attributed the next stage at 24000.
Another example is our eminent colleague d.rog 5651/9000 to compare to Stef b 7024/7200
The question is why 9000 and not 7000 or 7200.
last example ac cobr level 11 with 10349/13200 with 4008 answers including 400 best answers compared randomly to Joss... Level 12 with 9662/15600 with 378 answers and 30 best answer so our dear AC COB has a lower score with a higher number of points

It doesn't matter much, but it scratches my neuron. Why not a seniority-loyalty bonus either. Something escapes me.

Hi @Zozo_mp
Read my message carefully.

The legend of the meter is:
"5651 / 9000" = "points earned since the last level reached / points to be earned to move to the next level"

With each new level reached> the "Points Earned" displayed start from 0 and the "Points Required" are incremented.

I interpolated and listed the 50 levels and it looks like this:

"NIV"|"TOTAL REQUIS"|"POINTS REQUIS"|"INCREMENT"
     |pour atteindre| pour suivant |(préc. + 200)
 '0 | 0 | 0 | 0

 50 | 4 165 000 | "+255 000" | 10 000

A little algo to help read or calculate the logic of the table:

INC(niv) = 200 * niv
INC(niv+1) = INC(niv) + 200

PR(niv) = 100 * (niv+1) * niv
PR(niv+1) = PR(niv) + INC(niv+1)

TR(niv) = PR(0) + ... + ... + PR(niv-1)
TR(niv+1) = TR(niv) + PR(niv)

Example with level 5:

INC(5)= 200*5 "> INC(5)= 1000"
INC(5+1)= INC(5)+200 ">" INC(6)= 1000+200 "> INC(6)= 1200"

PR(5)= 100*(5+1)*5 ">" PR(5)= 100*6*5 ">" "PR(5)= 3000"
PR(5+1)= PR(5)+INC(5+1) ">" PR(6)= PR(5)+INC(6) ">" PR(6)= 3000+1200 "> PR(6)= 4200"

TR(5)= PR(0)+...+PR(5-1) ">" TR(5)= PR(0)+...+PR(4) ">" TR(5)= 0+200+600+1200+2000 "> TR(5)= 4000"
TR(5+1)= TR(5)+PR(5) ">" TR(6)= TR(5)+PR(5) ">" TR(6)= 4000+3000 "> TR(6)= 7000"

Or a Total XP Points required to reach level 30:
lv1+lv2+lv3+...+lv30 = 899,000
What about level 50 :skull: ...

With your 10879 / 11000 you have actually accumulated 43879 / 44000 since your registration (lv1+lv2+...+lv9+10879)

Thank you @Sylk

I'm going to integrate your table into a new version of the user manual.
I would add your name to the list of contributors to the PDF User Guide.
This point system reinforces my idea that topics should be closed with a better response either by the applicant or by the members of the CADx Label.

Just one trick to get 992,400 XP points, poof! pouffe! pouffe! you just have to have internet in a nursing home :joy: or be omniscient.

Yes level 30 is hot  For level 50 you need 3 lives!!

Small mistake it's not 992,400 but 899,000 to get level 30, since with 93,000 more you pass level 31.

I've added the rollup to the table.

Hello @ All and @ All

Here is an updated version with @Sylk . VERSION 2.1 from 11/16/22 at 2:45 PM

The main changes concern the logic of awarding points for which Sylk's contribution saved me from a half-seed (and even a whole seed).

The others concern an improvement in spelling and some unclear passages (version 1 was done quickly as is customary to say).

Kind regards

… Is it not Coralie who is already at level 17?.. :astonished:
=> Unbeatable... I wonder if she is not cheating... :grinning:

If I understood correctly the publication of the article report also hence some high level profile while these people are never connected to the forum.
To @Coralie between the articles and the topics commented on by all, it progresses quickly!

Hello,
It becomes more and more complicated with points, algorithms, etc...
For my part I have been on the forum since the beginning, but under different accounts since as my professional evolution progressed I had to create login ids linked to the mycad account of my different companies! (I was even in the top 10 with my first account and VIP!)
Thank you for the tutorial, I admit that I've given up a little for a few years

Maybe it would be better to put a gdrive or onedrive link with a text file for real-time edits without file conversion

Hello

I don't remember who noticed the fact that the author's avatar was replaced by that of the last poster on the reception.
From now on, it no longer changes and a yellow halo surrounds the avatar when the author of the last answer is the author of the question.

Thanks to the dev's for this discreet addition :+1:
