Problem sldshellutils.dll

Hello

After several searches on the internet I can't find an answer.

I went from Solidworks 2012 SP5 to 2013 SP5. Since then I have the error message "could not load Solidworks DLL: sldshellutils" when opening certain files or during operations like "composition to go".

I found a relationship with Windows update KB 3072630. I deleted it a while ago and checked, it didn't install.
I also tried to reinstall the Solidworks but it doesn't change anything...

Does anyone have an idea?
Thank you for your help.

Laurent

Hello

Try resetting the SolidWorks settings:

Thank you for your answer.

I just tried but no change...

Are there other positions where the same problem occurs?

We are a small company and we only have a license and therefore only my computer on which it is installed...

Hello

Have you attempted a repair???   Control panel==>Programs and features==> Solidworks right-click, modify and repair the installation, see PJ

Hello, I've already had the problem, in fact in "regedit" the software keys are not good. As @AC cobra says: " try a repair of the software" but without conviction that it will work. because it seems to me that my computer must have been formatted because I had several problems...

Kind regards

How did you do your migration: installation of a new version (keeping the old one) or version update? (I don't have the exact terms in mind anymore)

Just a remark about the KB3072630, it needs to be installed.
Simply, you have to disable it before the installation operations and then reactivate it. There are 2 files on the SW site to launch (see PJ)

kb3072630_workaround.zip

I just did the installation repair and it didn't work... It gives me an error that it doesn't have to repair Solidworks.

I'm going to format my PC because it's the only solution I've found that seems to work.

I'll keep you posted.

"stefbeno", I completely uninstalled Solidworks 2012 before reinstalling 2013.

Have you already done a total de-installation of SW with a good shot of CCleaner and then a disk cleanup...

"ac cobra 427", yes before my installation of Solidworks 2013 and I tried again once already.

"AC Cobra 427", yes twice already...

Question that comes to mind, did you disable the antivirus to do the update? because it may be that otherwise it is  blocked some files that it considered "potentially dangerous"!

Kind regards

And  deleted all SW files... Show a search in the explore on C and if there are still any; delete them and there again a Ccleaner and then reinstall it.

"G.", well seen the anti-virus hit. No more errors while repairing Solidworks.
But no resolution of my problem...

"AC Cobra 427", that's what I did the second time but no change...

Well, if a re-install doesn't work, I'm afraid that formatting is inevitable...

Have a good day anyway

"G." yes I'm getting ready for it...

In any case, thank you all for your advice and I'll keep you informed

Well after formatting my hard drive, installing Windows 10 (to try) and reinstalling Solidworks 2013.

Solidworks works without problem but still this f***ing DLL problem...

SW 2013 is simply not compatible with windaube 10

so you'll always have problems
