I've looked at the different tutorials on part configurations and on DriveworksXpress but I'm a little lost, Driveworks allows you to control part configurations?
But then, when should you use the ConfigurationManager rather than DriveworksXpress?
Thank you for your links, but what do you personally think of the sustainability of such a tool? I saw that this tool had been created by an external company and then integrated into Solidworks.
for the perinity no problem it's not the only tool integrated in SW which is a plus for SW
so not about to disappear in my humble opinion
which of + is if it is integrated at one time or another it will be the same box
EADS will buy if it has not already done so as other companies have been bought
DriveWorksXpress vs. Part Families
Why should I use DriveWorksXpress over parts families?
File size
DriveWorksXpress creates new files that are kept to a minimum.
Ease of use
New variants can be easily created. Customer templates and drawings are easy to manage.
Scalability
Projects can be modified in a scalable way as needs change over time.
Automatic drawings
Unique drawings can be created automatically for any assembly or part.
Rules-based steering
Rules determine the value or calculation required to drive a given parameter. Rules and calculations that affect multiple parts and assemblies can be easily linked in the Rule Editor.
You set up your entire room, then driveworks does automatically, updates the 3d and creates a drawing.
You'll use driveworks if your part can be set to 100%. This will save you time, just answer the questionnaire you have created and everything is done automatically.
It's easy to have to touch each side manually or to look in the equations.
Driveworks is not used much in France (lack of training or other) but is very heavily used in the rest of the world.
I advise you to train yourself on this, it's very interesting.

@Gt22, there is a difference between having to click on all the sides to change them by hand and answering a simple questionnaire as soon as the room is opened.
On the other hand, as Driveworks works like a database, when your part is defined with the parameters you want to move, there is no way to go back. Unless we re-register this piece under another database.
