Hello

Isn't there simply a way to give the link to the 1st webinar? In order to watch it outside working hours?

Thank you in advance.

Hello @FUZ3D,

After this webinar we will make the 2 replays available so that you have as much information as possible! We will also make a written summary in order to synthesize what has been explained; I'll share the link with you without fail as soon as it's online (before the end of July)!

Hello @remrem , thank you for your participation! Did you understand the offer better through this presentation?

Yes. It's clearer.
I would have liked to have more information on the features available by default and those for which to add extensions. In particular, in order to be able to compare with PDM.

It's noted, thank you for your feedback

Hello, I participated in yesterday's webinar which was very informative. I still have a question about the compatibility of the version on the cloud.
We all know the compatibility problems of solidworks versions with windows, office, internet browser...
With 3Dexperience, as it's on the cloud and therefore always up-to-date, it seems that like no magic, all these version problems disappear.
Can you tell us how these updates are handled and in case of a bug, how is the problem solved?
Thank you

  • Agree with Nicolas' remark.
According to the presentation, sw was on the designer workstation, so can we choose its version, or will sw update automatically without our opinion?
  • What happens when you don't have internet access available (it happens when you're in the buildings at the customers' sites), are the files to be extracted as with pdm? (or do we cry?)
-A question was asked about file security. But what happens in case of a serious crash on your side? Do you have a responsibility involved? Or do we also have to provide backup plans (I forgot the name) like for cloud storage?
  • During the presentation, I may not have seen the window with the questions of the other participants. Would it be possible to have in addition to the presentation, to have the questions with the answers?

As I don't know where to put the remarks once the webinar is over, I take advantage of the forum to write them.
That's it for now.

Have a good day.

Hello Coralie,
Is it possible to have a link to watch this webinar again?
Personally, I haven't looked at 3Dexperience yet, so for me it's a nebula and I'd like to know concretely what happens in 1, 2 or 3 years with the physical versions of SolidWorks, especially when you have, like me, 4 licenses under Visiativ maintenance contract.
Thank you

Hello, from what I took away from the webinar:
@ronathan 3DExperience allows 3 years to be separated from SolidWorks
@opiep27 it's like with the pdm, the files are local when you work on them

Hello everyone, I will transfer you the link to the webinar which will be posted online very soon!

Hello @nicolas.marquand !
As Florian explained during his webinar, there are two cases to highlight:

  • 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS - the full cloud offer: in this case you will always have the latest version and service pack of SOLIDWOKRS, no possibility to choose. If there is a bug (which is less and less common), the information is quickly reported to Dassault, which deploys a hotfix

  • SOLIDWORKS + Cloud services: In this case, you will be able to use the latest SOLIDWORKS features (shown in this webinar) starting with SW2023sp3. Or in a broader sense, connect your license to the Dassault cloud up to 2 years earlier than the current version (today until SW2021)

Hello @opiep27 !

I'll let you read the answer I just gave to Nicolas for your first question.

Regarding the second, you have the option to use the offline world if you are (or go) to a place without an internet connection. To do this, you need to open your files so that they load in your local cache before logging out. Once the connection is regained, you can log back in and save your changes if there were any.

File security is ensured in Dassault's data centers with all the levels of security and certifications that go with it. We can assure you that no crash is to be expected.

Hello

2 small remarks on your statements:
"If there is a bug (which is less and less common), the information is quickly reported to Dassault who deploys a hotfix"   (I have bug reports that have remained waiting for several years to be fixed and bugs that came back after disappearing on a previous version).

"We can assure you that no crashes are to be expected." You will have to detail the technical solutions if you want your solution to take off (in particular the off-site and disconnected architecture) because no one is safe from a site accident (cf. the OVH fire) or hacking of more or less magnitude. The Dassaut / Solidworks servers will certainly be better protected than those of the average SME (but also much more attacked).

And I would add a few customers such as Naval Group, Thales and others who will be very reassured that their data is stored on a very secure remote server...

Hello @froussel !

I understand your concern about the cloud. However, OVH has several levels of subscriptions and therefore several levels of security.
This is something that does not exist at Dassault. With the Dassault cloud, you always had an equivalent to the Premium offer at OVH, so with replications on several data centers.
In addition, cyber engineers work 24/7 to protect its data centers. To analyze network flows and they are even equipped with AI software that allows them to identify and give alerts.
In short, with cloud services and more generally any cloud offer from Dassault, you have the same level of service and security as Renault.
I am not an expert on the subject, but I can, if you wish, connect with cybersecurity experts.

Remaining at your disposal!
Have a nice day!

And so, the link for the online webinar, he did like us and went on vacation?

Hello

Here I am reassured...

Of course, this incident is starting to date but no one is safe and with these solutions in the cloud, the day it is Dassault that is affected, it will be all customers at the same time, I can't even imagine the target they will become for hackers and their cryptolockers...

No thank you...
