New authentication: Did you manage to log in?

Hello.
Reconnection made, but it was not easy!
Have a nice day

Or... These could be users who had an account on another site of the group but not on the forum, and with the "unification", an associated account will have been automatically created, with a temporary username generated by incrementation or encryption.

I'm skeptical about test accounts, since these accounts are active (the one I mentioned asks questions and reacts to the answers).

For the second hypothesis, it is possible but twisted.

Well I was disconnected, when I wanted to post a reply, that's already annoying, except that this time I was askedfor a verification code for my email, the SAME email that I have always used and which is supposed to be ALREADY validated!!

So what's the delirium, making us reconfirm our email every 1st of the month??

It takes longer to log in than to type the answer you want to post... I thought time was money, not in the industry it seems.
The worst thing is that I'm sure it takes longer for a registrant to connect than for a hacker to infiltrate.

This story will just end up stuffing us all and end up with us only consulting the forum as guests, without ever connecting!!

Finally, the good thing is that when you notice a drop in attendance, you'll know why.

Kind regards

PS: and let's not forget the cookie notice that you have to stuff yourself too!

Hello;

I find it strange that:
The more people complain about the connection methods, the more you shorten the time available once connected.
This morning, no less than 4 (disconnections)... and it is not yet noon.

I think that by dint of time I will spend less and less time trying to dialogue with other forumers, and will be content, like @Sylk (and probably others), to "watch" the forum as a spectator and not as an actor.

Because validating my logs+passwords+validating the page of "well everything is "OK" but you still have to click on the button below" and then invalidate the cookie requests... It's really starting to become... painful (to remain polite).

Kind regards.

ARGGGG! No, but seriously... I was disconnected while writing this post!!

Maybe you have problems on your side because mine have to reconnect every 2/3 days. And it takes 5 seconds because address and mdp are already registered

Hello @Maclane ,
Sorry for this inconvenience... I have informed our support department of these problems, our technicians will restore this as soon as possible,
Coralie

Hi all

Each connection session lasts 4 hours in which you do not have to log in again. This security rule has been put in place by our cybersecurity department and unfortunately cannot be changed;
However, in order to facilitate your connections, I advise you to save your usernames and passwords!
I remain at your disposal for any feedback, have a good day,
Coralie

Hello @Coralie

4 hours !! It's just too little...
6 hours would be a much better compromise! That would make us max 4 reconnections per day instead of 6, i.e. only 2 recos per day of work. This is already a little more acceptable.

Then, if you could AT LEAST spare us the click on the "continue" button, it would also be more digestible.

Another extremely painful point that cuts off all our momentum to respond; when we are disconnected and we are asked to update, it actually actualizes only; It disconnects us and ejects us from the subject to the homepage, and not even reconnected, so we still have to click on the "connect" button!!
For me, a real update would be to offer us the login directly and once validated, to redirect us to the page where we were when we clicked on the "update" banner!!

No, because 10 minutes after clicking on "reply" we kind of forgot what we meant and we even lost the motivation to try to remember...

Hello
It gives the impression of being the Btester of your new platform... Usually, you have advantages to being a Btester, here you pay for maintenance and you have extra work...

A few more points to what has already been reported (not related to the forum but to MyCAD tickets):

  • I have many tickets that are in "Waiting for Customer" while there have been no interventions from a support worker.
  • Why make such a small window when creating a new ticket? It's not ergonomic at all to grasp the details of our problem.
  • I still put a layer on the fact that I have to click on continue after a pseudo check of the machine's compatibility. It is useless. Either the machine is OK, we move on, or it's not OK and you put an error message

Hello @sylvain.barneron ,

Sorry that you had this experience on the platform;
I have noted all your different points that I have transmitted to our support team who will take into account requests for improvements,
Thank you for your feedback and wish you a good day,
Coralie

Hello
I find you very critical of this story of disconnection. I can understand when you write a response that it can annoy but for the rest you enter how many times a day your different passwords and logins on different sites or even on your smartphone (if only to unlock it).
On my pro PC I have to enter my password about 5 to 6 times a day if not more depending on what I do and how many PCs I use.
Apart from the page asking you to click on continue (once the job verification is complete) which could be done in hidden, the login/password is enough to use a software that stores it and in two clicks it's done.

Hello @Cyril.f

Tell me if in your opinion completely renovating a 6-lane motorway makes sense if we leave an old stone path as its only access?

It is a kind of levitation; An attractive site with repulsive access.

If we do not systematically have an answer to give to everything we read (not being too embarrassing to be offline except for the history), we may on the other hand want to like " everything " we read. And here it's more embarrassing. Likes are more frequent than our answers, and nevertheless no less important, because they give weight to the answers.

As much as we will gladly return to answer an unanswered question later, we might as well come back to give likes to answers already read, it's less certain...

So yes it varies according to everyone's habits but in my humble opinion, it's a double punishment for the activity of the forum.

Sorry I don't see the connection.
Otherwise, connected since 5 hours, no disconnection

Hello @Coralie
First of all, thank you for relaying our feedback, hoping that it will help find a solution. After all, isn't that what we're supposed to do best?

With this in mind, I am submitting to you a solution for which the feasibility is to be studied, and which would solve these inconveniences.

  • No session expiration on the forum, BUT systematic login for the profile and the really sensitive data.

The link is that on Lynkoa the whole site was rowing but at least the login was fast and didn't expire, but on myCAD the whole site (or almost) has been redesigned to become faster and more attractive (overall very successful!), and yet the login has become more tedious, and on top of that expired, making it even more tedious and the site less attractive.
For me, there is a dichotomy. :fist_right: :fist_left:

There is a way to do better, sincerely.

EDIT: And yes, it seems that the session duration has been extended in the meantime.

Be careful, what I'm about to say is only my responsibility and is not here to be the old grumpy. These are only remarks that are mine and come from a disappointed love.

In the end, this connection problem seems to me to be only a revelation of what I feel since my return here.
Previously, when the forum was still called Lynkoa, not an hour went by without me updating my page to participate in the new debate/questions/challenge/group. Access was direct and fluid  , the community was active and abundant.

I can't say if it's due to the complications of access, but I find the aura of the forum a bit "dull". The people who participate are always of quality... but very few!
And I come to wonder if the increasing complexity of access, update after update, has something to do with it.
In the old days, all you had to do was go to the forum's login page, and off you went. Now, under the guise of "simplicity", it becomes difficult to find.
We have to go to the MyCAD platform, then find the right path among all the options offered, fill in a login that does not last over time and finally... go back to work, because after all this past it's no longer time to hang out on a forum. As a result, the desire to come is fatally blunted

In fact, I wonder if MyCAD is not simply breaking a nice toy and letting a forum die on its own: too expensive to maintain / too hungry in memory / a database of questions and answers already well stocked / no need to make a name for yourself / put the reason you like

In short, unless myCAD makes a jolt and changes, I'll keep coming to see what's going on... but from time to time and in a much less assiduous way than before.

Hello

I haven't been disconnected since yesterday! I don't know if it's the development team or a random stroke of luck, but frankly it's a pleasure! So much more enjoyable :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you :kissing_heart:
